Church Wide Study Details
No one plays a game without a scoreboard? Remove it and people lose focus. The game gets boring. We want a target, a finish line, a way to measure progress. The same is true in our walk with God. Peter writes, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Paul admonishes, “Pursue righteousness.” These are calls for progress. But how do we know if we’re making the kind of progress that nurtures our souls, pleases God and promotes his kingdom? This is an important question.
Jesus said, “All men will know you are my disciples BY ...” Jesus was giving us a mile marker, a means of measuring our progress! We know God doesn’t award gold stars. He delights in us because of Jesus. Nothing can change that. Still, a day is coming when our work for him will be tested (1 Corinthians 3:11-13). We want to be ready. We want to be effective. Typically, churches measure effectiveness by the 3Bs (bodies, bucks, buildings). We think there’s a better way to determining if we are in love and on mission with Jesus. We simply ask 9 questions?
