Mission Trip: Malawi

 

Malawi

Pothawira (Safe Haven) Village, Salima, Malawi

Our team will be expanding the solar power system to provide reliable power to the dormitories in the village and will be establishing a sewing center.  We will also work along side Pastor Peter and Emma Maseko in the clinic and new Birthing Center to minister to the community and to the 120 children living there.

2017 Travel Dates & Cost

September 24th – October 5th

Optional 3-day Safari: $550

This includes transportation, lodging and meals except for travel days.

May 23rd – Information Meeting: Chapel Room #3, 7:00pm - 9:00pm

June 9th – Application, Signed Team Covenant, $100 Deposit Due

July 6th – Team Meeting: Chapel Room #3, 7:00pm - 9:00pm

July 7th  – $1700 Payment Due (airfare, share of supplies, deposit for in-country expenses)

August 25th – $900 Payment Due (balance of in country expenses)

August 29th – Team Meeting: Chapel Room #3, 7:00pm - 9:00pm

September 19th – Packing Meeting: Chapel Room #2, 6:30pm - 9:00pm

September 24th – Depart for Malawi

October 5th – Early return back from Malawi

October 9th – Return from Malawi (includes 3-day Safari to Zambia)

Registration

Interested in going on this mission trip? Download and fill out the forms below. 

Once forms are completed, attach the required deposit to the Application Form (make checks payable to Spanish River Church) along with a copy of your passport. If you pay the deposit online, please hand in your Application Form and a copy of your passport.

Submit your application to the Global Outreach Ministry by June 10, 2016. You can leave your application at the Welcome Desk or the Church Office. Please indicate the name of the mission trip on the outside of the envelope.

Malawi Needs Drive

Join us in helping orphans in Malawi!

SRC is sending a medical/solar mission team trip in September to Malawi, Africa. We are collecting items to help orphan children living in Pothawira Village.

The mission team will be working alongside Pastor Peter Maseko ministering to the orphans, working in the clinic and new birthing center as a community outreach, installing a solar power system and setting up a new sewing center.

We are asking for your help in one of the following ways:

Clothing

You can purchase a new and complete outfit for children ages 6 to 13 years old.

  • Girls: A dress or play outfit
  • Boys: A shorts and shirt outfit
  • Include underwear and shoes (such as crocs-type)
  • Please bring new items to the church office or the Welcome Desk by September 18th.

Monetary Donations

Checks are payable to SRC and these donations will cover the following:
