Foster Care

It is our goal to see more siblings stay together, to see every child inside a real home with a family, and to stay in their own community where they can thrive.

Why Foster Care Matters.

Every day 6 to 10 kids are removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment in our community. Many will be separated from their siblings, live in shelters or group homes, or be sent out of their home county. 4KIDS believes every child deserves to be in a home, with a loving family. It is our goal to see more siblings stay together, to see every child inside a real home with a family, and to stay in their own community where they can thrive. We do this through hundreds of Christian foster families, all committed to walking the whole journey with a child.

Make a difference.

FAM Team (Family Advocacy Ministry)

God desires that His church would rise up and be the solution to a world that needs Him. FAM exists to be just that. James 1:27 tells us specifically how we, the Church, can be the answer—caring for the orphan. Children in foster care need a loving community around them and FAM equips volunteers to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Much like extended family, FAM is a team of committed volunteers who support a foster family through prayer and service. Volunteers offer support in the following ways:

• Consistent Prayer
• Bringing Meals
• Providing Childcare
• Transporting Children to Appointments
• Mentoring or Tutoring Children
• Coordinating Volunteers for a Foster Family
• Supplying or Sourcing Practical Needs: (Bunk Beds, Strollers, Car Seats, Clothing)

We’re ‘Caring’ for our Community.

The Care Portal Team

All across our community, there are children and families facing incredible challenges by no fault of their own. We believe that the right resource at the right time can not only meet their tangible needs but also open a door of hope and transformation. CarePortal is designed to connect churches with the children and families who are at-risk or already a part of the child welfare system.

The needs featured on CarePortal are vetted by child welfare professionals who know the struggles of the families. The top five most frequently requested needs on CarePortal are beds and cribs, dressers, living room furniture, car seats, and seasonal items. We believe as a community when we meet the right needs at the right time, we can engage families in meaningful relationships, and we will see more children stay safely at home in their own communities, and see fewer children removed from their homes and entering the foster care system.
